5th Engineers Without Borders Biennial Conference

The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) will be hosting the 5th Engineers Without Borders Biennial Conference on Wednesday 16th to Friday 18th April, 2014. The Symposium theme is: “Emerging Technologies and Innovations for Value Addition in Africa.”

The 5th Engineers Without Borders Conference will provide excellent forum for sharing knowledge and experiences on how the engineering profession continues to evolve and adapt itself to contributing to innovation, sustainable social and economic development, and how it addresses current issues facing the region and the world at large.

The Conference will provide a platform to engineering researchers, educators and practitioners from both the academia and industry in the region and beyond to meet and share ideas and developments in value addition to local raw materials, infrastructure solutions, standardisation of the engineering practice, innovation in engineering education, energy and environment challenges, water and sanitation solutions and advances of ICT applications in engineering.

Authors are invited to contribute to the Conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects, surveying works and industrial experiences that describe significant advances in the areas under, but are not limited to, the following sub-themes:

  • Value Addition to Local Raw Materials
  • Infrastructure Solutions
  • Standardisation of the Engineering Practice (to include Regional Engineers’ registration & mobility)
  • Innovation in Engineering Education
  • Energy and Environment
  • Water Resources Management
  • Advances of ICT Applications in Engineering
